Systems Engineer Launch (m/f/d)
RFA is seeking a permanent Systems Engineer, to join our Launch Team in Augsburg. The Launch Team is involved in every aspect of using our launch vehicle. The Launch Team develops all launch site infrastructure, from the pad to mission control and the integration facilities; operational campaign plans for the integration, testing, and launch of the vehicle; mission planning including customer relations, payload integration and, and mission design; operational safety of the vehicle and flight; flight licencing applications; and discussions with launch sites to find the right fit.

Your Tasks
•    Develop system analysis, requirement specifications with focus on on-ground environmental conditions
•    Define and lead the activities to satisfy launch site requirements and RFA requirements
•    Contribute to the quality control procedures and launch system quality
•    Ensure all elements of mechanical, electrical, fluidic and control aspects function together
•    Be responsible for the overall system architecture for the launch site
•    Create design documentation and reports
•    Complete process engineering computations and deliver behavior and performances of the processes
•    Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders ensuring requirements are communicated and met
•    Be involved in construction oversight and the commissioning process

Your Qualificatons
•    Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering or similar study, with a focus systems development and design
•    >3 years’ practical engineering design experience
•    Able to apply the relevant theories, codes, and standards appropriate to launch site design (ISO, EIGA, ASTM, ASME, PED Directive)
•    Experience with HAZOP and Safety in Design is a plus
•    Capable of working independently, while prioritising various tasks
•    Able to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary and multicultural team
•    Fluent in written and spoken English
