About the role

The RF Engineer I – Licensing works under the guidance of the RF Licensing Lead, to ensure Rocket Lab’s RF systems and operations comply with radio frequency regulations. The RF Engineer I – Licensing arranges and maintains frequency licences for Rocket Lab’s RF systems, including the launch vehicles, ground stations and satellites, and supports coordination activities as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelors degree, majoring in Communications systems/Digital communications or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ of relevant work experience
  • A basic understanding of RF communications systems and the ability to perform basic RF analysis
  • A high degree of foresight and initiative
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in a frequency licensing role
  • Real-world RF communications systems experience
