About the Job

The Orbital Dynamics Engineer is a key role in the Performance team within Mission & Operations, leading the design, planning and implementation of the orbital maneuvers required to commission, maintain and decommission our satellites, according to mission requirements of orbit positioning, station keeping and collision avoidance. The Orbital Dynamics Engineer is also responsible for the definition of a tracking strategy that can support satellite commissioning and operation plans at large scale.


  • Design, plan and execute orbital maneuvers of orbit positioning and station keeping for the satellite fleet.
  • Define, execute and supervise the tracking strategy of the satellites in our fleet throughout their lifetime.
  • Define, execute and supervise the collision avoidance strategy for an ever growing constellation of satellites.
  • Define success criteria and applicable monitoring tools to assess the performance of the maneuvers and status of the fleet.
  • Interact with the Mission Design and Planning team to define maneuvering strategies that meet customer and mission requirements.
  • Interact with Mission and Operations teams to define and execute satellite commissioning, operations and maintenance plans.
  • Interact with Satellite Engineering teams to characterize the capabilities and performance of the propulsion systems.

Skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in aerospace engineering or related fields.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with orbital dynamics.
  • English: spoken and written.
  • Flexibility and agility: be comfortable with an ever-changing and fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Communication: excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Initiative: identify improvement opportunities, provide feedback, design solutions.
  • Systemic vision: understand the complex architecture of satellites, seek for system level optimization.
  • Ability to understand and manage discrepancies and tradeoffs by exploring different alternatives and points of view.
