Safe & Sustainable use of orbits

Share My Space is a “New Space” start-up in the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) market. The company was incorporated in 2017 and develops ground infrastructure and software solutions for safe navigation in increasingly crowded orbits. Our current activities range from building space surveillance capabilities (with unique disruptive telescope technology in the world) to on orbit collision risk predictions, autonomous navigation, and artificial intelligence for commercial and governmental satellite operators. The ambition is to provide the most complete service to ensure safe and sustainable use of space. To support this ambition, we have secured important private and public funding . The team already gathers 13 employees, including top tier engineers and scientists. Orbit sustainability and sovereignty for space surveillance are becoming hot subjects of concerns in the last months at the European level. We are about to grow significantly in 2022, 2023 with open positions in both its technical and commercial teams.

The Role

Business Development for commercial and institutional markets (40%)

  • Prospection of institutions and private companies (satellite operators worldwide)
  • Identifying institutional prospects (space agencies, government, military), Scouting of
    agencies strategies and news that could fit into SMS business scope
  • Opportunity identification and qualification
  • RDV preparation
  • Preparation of presentations and sales materials
  • Participation to the whole sales process

Bids and call for tenders (40%)

  • Active scouting for public and private call for tenders (RFI, RFP, etc.)
  • Coordination and writing of the commercial offers with the support of the technical team
  • Participation to the organization of consortiums with European and French space ecosystem

Active participation to SMS influence effort with institutions and ecosystem (10-20%)

Share My Space is working in close link with the French and European institutions to build the priorities and regulations of the sector. As part of the commercial team you will directly evidence how Share My Space’s technologies and services support governments and institutions roadmaps (France, European Union, etc.).

This aspect of the job involves:

  • Scouting of opportunities to have impact on decision makers at public levels (legislation,
    budget orientation, insurance, etc.)
  • Participation to public related events (ESA, CNES, European Commission, etc.)
  • Preparation of events and interventions (even as speaker)
  • Preparation and participation to working groups with institutions etc.
  • Preparation of content for communication (articles, presentations, training progams etc.)
  • Cease opportunities for communication

Profile and Background

  • We are looking for personalities at different seniority level (3-10 years work experience)
  • Business or Engineering or relevant degree
  • 1st experience in business development, sales or program role, with proven track record
  • Exposure to tech and innovative software or industrial solutions (non established markets)
  • Passion for space and proven ability to understand the industry
  • English language + others, French language is a plus but not mandatory

Specific focus can be imagined according to following back-grounds

  • Experience of european institutional and goverment markets (civil & defense)
  • Knowledge of satellite operations, Flight Dynamics, etc.
  • Space Law and policy
