MISSION

 

In the frame of SITAEL Ground, Operations and User Segments Unit (as part of the Space Systems Department) we are looking for a Ground Segment System Engineer, with at least 5 years of experience in the field of Ground Segment Engineering activities preparation, execution and coordination. The GS System Engineer will report to Ground Segment & Operations Responsible.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Ground Segment System Engineer will be responsible of:

 

  • Coordination of the GS Engineering team GS design, preparation and execution.
  • Preparation of subsystems technical requirements specifications
  • Definition and justification GS architecture, from concept to detailed design phase
  • Definition and control of GS technical interfaces, internal and external (towards space and launch segments)
  • Definition of and verification of the GS engineering budgets and performances
  • Coordination of internal teams/subcontractors during the design, development, and acceptance phases of GS subsystems
  • Coordination with GS AIV Manager for the GS Integration and Validation activities
  • Coordination with the ILS&OPS Manager during the operational validation, LEOP and commissioning and phases to address, solve GS issues and to maintain GS architecture baseline

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Master degree or comparable in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Professional experience of at least 5 years of experience in GS Engineering for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) missions.
  • Sound knowledge of DOORS.
  • Sound knowledge of UML/SysML and MBSE tools.
  • Experience with coordinating a team, he/she shall have good interpersonal, reporting and communication skills and a proactive attitude to problem solving.
  • Experience with coordinating partners from different companies in an international project.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Sound knowledge of ground system engineering processes, and ground system and software life cycles
  • Sound knowledge of relevant ECSS standards
