Position

We are looking for a Biosciences Business Developer to join the International Commercial Experiment (ICE) Cubes Service (https://www.icecubesservice.com/), whose activities will cover the establishment of new market development on Biosciences R&D in space.

The position is in the Strategic Business Unit Department, International Commercial Experiment Cubes Service (ICE Cubes) Strategic Business Unit (comprised of 8 persons).
The candidate will mainly report to the Head of ICE Cubes Business Development.

Location: Noordwijk, the Netherlands
Start Date: at the earliest

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the definition and implementation of the biosciences R&D strategy for the ICE Cubes service
  • Preparing value proposition material for biosciences R&D sectors
  • Following up leads and converting leads into opportunities for biosciences
  • Developing sales pipelines through research, outreach, and monitoring of relevant market development activities
  • Identifying corporate/research partnerships/consortia with companies, research institutes and other entities
  • Liaising with biosciences customers and platforms organisations
  • Gathering biosciences customer requirements and work with engineering team for related technical setups
  • Coordinating for and participating in promotional events and conferences.

Skills and Experience

  • A Master Degree  or PhD in a relevant scientific domain
  • At ease with/interested in Space, Space biology, Innovation, Business Development aspects
  • Preferably years of experience in biosciences/biotech/pharma applied R&D and/or business development
  • Established professional network with biosciences R&D sector
  • A proactive and flexible attitude, with an innovative mindset and “Think out-of-the-box” open-mindedness
  • Ability to:
    • Understand, describe and discuss how microgravity affects biosciences processes
    • Effectively translate related value proposition for biosciences into a compelling case
    • Interact with customers to understand their needs and propose innovative approaches
    • Work independently in structured and unstructured situations
    • (net)work in/with international teams
  • A keen eye for detail and big-picture vision
  • Strength to cope with schedules and deadlines
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Considered as Asset

  • Experience in innovation, business consultancy
  • Experience with setup of partnerships, consortia (e.g. with Horizon Research and Development programmes).
