As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will provide structural design engineering support for Blue Origin’s family of launch vehicles and spacecraft. Your scope results in the delivery of safe, reliable, ready to install, hardware that meets requirements and acceptance criteria.

  • Design, analysis, development, and testing of primary and secondary airframe structures.struc
  • Provide technical guidance for integration and general Liaison Engineering support.
  • Support configuration development and trade studies.
  • Early definition of interfaces and controlling documents, striking appropriate balance between timely definition and technical risk.
  • Review and support discussions regarding system requirements, flow down, and verification.
  • Create and maintain a detailed/prioritized schedule of activity and work with assigned team members to deliver structural designs on schedule and on budget.
  • Work with the configuration and assembly teams to properly prioritize procurement activities by identifying long lead procurements.
  • Create drawings, specifications, and other documentation.
  • Assist with fabrication and assembly service management; procuring components and materials; and managing vendor/subcontractor performance.
  • Support team test objectives and aid in data reduction, review, and reporting.
  • Create verification artifacts to support qualification and certification of primary and secondary airframe structures.
  • Identify opportunities for safety improvements and operational cost savings.



  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Interest in aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structural design.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis techniques and fundamentals (Statics, Mechanics of Materials).
  • Familiarity with material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
  • Familiar with ASME Y14.100 and Y14.41.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.



  • Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10.
  • Hands-on project experience with college-level engineering objectives.
  • Experience with analysis codes: Nastran, ANSYS, Optistruct, LS/Dyna.
  • Awareness of composite and metallic design and analysis matters.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering practices, manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes, and quality control.
  • Experience with Optimization and DOE methods as applied to design, analysis, and testing.
