The Position

This is a job for an enthusiastic and experienced Team Leader and Bid Manager looking for a professional environment that values success, excellence and integrity.

We are looking for a versatile team leader who recognizes the value of his team members and brings out the best in them, and who is able to align the ambitions of his team with the company’s ambitions and objectives. In addition to leading the team of bid managers, he/she shall be comfortable with day-to-day bid management activities, and skillfully managing multiple internal and external interfaces.

The successful applicant will be a member of the company’s Commercial team.

This position is full-time and permanent and can be started immediately.

Responsibilities/Duties

General Leadership

  • Direct management of staff, including their training, development and annual performance reviews
  • Managing the Bid processes and evolving these in accordance with the company’s business goals
  • Managing the team’s work allocation and resources
  • Performing the necessary analysis of bid KPIs and results
  • Ownership and management of the Bid Management budget
  • Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer

Bid Management tasks

  • Ensuring the quality, completeness, compliance and timely submission of proposals
  • Performing the planning and management of an increasing number of proposals, using knowledge of best practice, lessons learned, and client tender conditions and processes
  • Leading effectively the coordination with internal and external contributors to proposals
  • The authoring of typical management, contractual, and administrative proposals, based on detailed knowledge of client tender conditions, Statements of Work, draft contracts and best practice techniques
  • Maintain the Proposal Template(s) and associated macro utilities
  • Providing regular trainings of the Sales & Bid Process to staff involved in proposals
  • Leading the preparation for (external) audits related to the Sales & Bid Process

Qualifications/Experience

  • Education and studies in business administration, or similar
  • At least 5 years of experience in bid management
  • Experience in leading a team
  • APMP Foundation Level Certification

  • Fluent English and German speaking and writing skills

  • Convincing skills in getting others on board
  • A self-motivated team player with a good sense of humour

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with the Aerospace domain or another engineering /technical sector
  • Working experience in a multi-national environment
