The Position

The position is for a senior sales manager, responsible identifying new opportunities within the classical European space market for our existing products and services. In this context ‘classical’ shall be understood to be institutions, agencies and commercial organizations with well established business models such as EUTELSAT, SES, InmarSat, OHB, Airbus and Thales.

You will work in close coordination with our delivery teams, to formulate the direction that each domain should take. You will act as the bridge between the current capabilities and the opportunities, investigating and communicating the markets needs to the technical teams. Together you will formulate strategies and plans, and take the developed solutions to market with them.

You know that delivery and sales must work closely together, because selling is a team effort and what has been sold also has to be delivered! You understand how delivery and sales think and can bridge the two views of the world. You facilitate that the delivery teams bring their capabilities to the market.

You understand the funding channels within Europe and the established of business models the market. You have an existing network at senior level into the main players in European space.

Part of this is to work with marketing to formulate and structure the sales material of the organization.

This position is based at our Head Office in Darmstadt. It is full-time and permanent and expected starting date will be around June 2020.

  • 5+ years experience in similar role in the space domain
  • A solid network into European space organizations

Essential Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Overview of the European space ecosystem; players and funding channels
  • Understanding of satellite ground segments
  • Structured methods for business development
  • Ability to perform structured analyses of markets and define strategies
  • Documented experience in working with both delivery and sales teams, acting as the facilitator between them
