Embedded Software Engineer

Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking an Embedded S/w Engineer to be part of our new Research and Technology team. In this role, you will be a part of the global Thales initiative in open hardware developments collaborating with the OpenHW Group, premier academics, Govt. Research and Development organizations in India and globally.
You will work in highly multi-disciplinary teams distributed across the globe in the domain of embedded systems, targeted for high-end applications using machine learning, scalable software developments and open source technologies.

Qualification:  

  • Masters in Computers / Electronics engineering from reputed institutions with 2-4 years of experience.

Essential skills:

  • Hands-on with embedded systems, software development using cross compilers and debuggers
  • Working knowledge in Python, C and C++ (knowledge of third party libraries like Numpy, Scikit, Pandas, Boost is desired)
  • Experience in software testing, writing test cases, verification plan, use of third party tools like pytest
  • Experience on Linux systems, multi-threaded applications development
  • Knowledge of RTOS and its use in real-time embedded systems
  • Strong problem solving skills and experience in working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong attitude to learn new concepts and technologies
  • Working knowledge in any version control system like Git, Jenkins, Docker etc.

Desired Skills:

  • Exposure to micro-architecture of embedded processors
  • Good understanding of Firmware, Device driver, boot sequence of OS on embedded hardware
  • Experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, regression
  • Knowledge of Tensorflow, Pytorch, Keras, TFLite will definitely be a PLUS
  • Knowledge of FPGA based firmware development will be added advantage
  • Understanding of TinyML and AI benchmarks
