Senior/Lead Engineer – GNSS

Thales India Engineering Competency Center in Bangalore is seeking Senior/Lead Engineer role to be part of Engineering team. The Engineer is in charge of the software development activities (requirements, architecture, code, tests, reviews). The objective is to add the SBAS capacity into a GPS receiver embedded into a transport aircraft, by delivering software that meet requirements coming from a Business Lines (B/L), with the adequate quality and maturity level, within schedule and budget.

Job Responsibilities :

As a Senior/Lead Engineer, you will be a major actor in the software development phases of avionics Multi Mode Receiver (MMR) product. In more details:

• Engineering principles and best practices across all phases of software development
• Ensure software development (analysis, specification, Code, Test implementation, integration, validation and verification) according to aeronautics normalization (DO178 DAL B).
• Requirement (HLR, LLR), Software development and Testing (HLT, LLT) from software requirements as per DO178 DAL B.
• Peer review
• Debugging on cross compiler platform.
• Requirement testing
• Debugging and resolving complex problems by using Tests Benches and Tools.
• Ensure quality deliveries before hand-off to Quality Assurance teams for further testing and verification.
• Focus on timely delivery with quality and cost.
• Participate in an AGILE team involved in the development.
• Apply and comply with the configuration management process.
• Cascade trustable information to the Senior/Lead Engineers.
• Comply with Organizational policies.

Minimum Skills/Experience :

• Should have overall 4 to 10 years engineering experiences in embedded software development.
• Strong experience in native and cross compiler platform Linux and RTOS with knowledge of handling EVAL card for communication.
• Should have strong experience in Embedded Software Development in writing HLR/LLR, CODE and HLT/LLT.
• Strong experience in C/C++/ADA programming language and good in object oriented programming and concept.
• Should have GNSS / GPS / MMR background.
• Good experience in debugging software using IDE tools and experience in configuration management tool i.e: GIT (gitbucket) / IC Jenkins / JIRA.
• Good knowledge on DO178 DAL B/C process and standard and knowledge about avionics protocols (A429, A664, RS232).
• Hands on experience Redhat7 Linux PC and knowledge of TMS platform.
• Knowledge of scripting language (e.g. Python, Ruby)

Qualifications : B.Tech in Electronics & Communication or related engineering discipline with 5 years of relevant experience.

Working experience in Defense\military\Aerospace products development is desirable.
