URA Thrusters - developing Sustainable Propulsion Solutions

Would you like to be at the forefront of sustainable space? would you like to be at the forefront of space technologies?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Project managers to join URA Thrusters, a space company developing sustainable propulsion solutions, part of the AVS group, a fully EN9100 certified approved supplier of mechatronic, propulsion and thermal subsystems for the majority of the Space primes and agencies.

We are taking water, and developing it into rocket fuel, working to eliminate chemicals which are harmful to both the environment and to human life.

Your role would be to manage few of the largest and most interesting ongoing and future projects. You will be working with commercial customers such as established Space primes, the European Space Agency, etc.

To be our senior project manager, you must be familiar with ECSS regulations and should have project managed a European Space Agency funded project or an EN9100 commercial project for a large Space prime before.  We are also looking for junior project managers who have 1 or 2 years experience to continue to develop their careers on exciting projects.

You will be in charge of delivering the project(s) on time, and on budget, with the support of the COO and CTO, and working closely with the main technical lead engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, R&D, etc.).

You will have to ensure the compliance with the requirements and make non-compliance ECSS statements if any, as well as discussing with the stakeholders, including suppliers and both the UK and European Space Agency.

You will have to complete standard project paperwork, organise deliverables, meetings, schedules, etc. and support the team with procurement, operations or other required tasks to maintain the flow of the project.

Our company is based at Westcott Venture Park, HP18 0XB, and has its own propulsion test facility, assembly and integration workshops, clean rooms, and bake-out / outgassing chambers.

We are a young company but part of a larger (SME) multinational and technology-driven group (AVS). URA’ ambition is to become the worldwide reference in sustainable propulsion solutions, with huge aspirations of becoming the best Space employer in the world.

If you would like to join us on this journey, and lead aspirational and game-changing projects and technologies, please get in touch.

About us:

We are URA Thrusters, the one-stop shop for in-space water propulsion solutions across a broad spectrum of spacecraft sizes and platforms: from CubeSats to SmallSats to large GEO platforms.

Our goal is to commercialise the use of water for space transportation and propulsion.

URA Thrusters was officially born in 2019 as a spin-off from the AVS group in order to commercialise the use of water for in-space propulsion.

URA combines the best skills from the high-precision and technological developments of AVS and its world-class research collaborators including Imperial College London, Surrey Space Centre and the University of Southampton.

URA means water in the Basque language, the oldest living language in Europe and, perhaps, the seed of all articulate language.

At URA we will transform in-space transport by providing a green, low-cost and high-performance propellant.  Water.
