Chief Operations Office 

Inmarsat’s Chief Operations Office (COO) plays a vital role managing the services that keep our business running and delivering to our customers. COO consists of 9 functions from Satellite Operations to Customer Service and Service Delivery, Network Operations and Service Assurance to Group IT, One IT, Cyber Security and the Digital office.

Job Description

Primary role purpose:

To coordinate, plan and ensure all installation and service jobs in the designated APAC locations run smoothly, while utilizing our resources efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

General

  • Identify, assess and prioritize all installation and service jobs in the designated APAC locations
  • Manage allocation of engineer resources
  • Report status of completed and planned installations and annual services to Team Lead
  • Ensure safety and quality control of work performed
  • Report/escalate any issues to line manager

Annual Service Jobs

  • Actively look for annual services in the region
  • Establish contact and plan services with the customer
  • Obtain PO for the job where applicable
  • Dispatch Engineer when needed
  • Manage travel arrangements where applicable
  • Check that documentation is updated by engineers after services are completed
  • Arrange follow up service if required
  • Record complete and accurate information on service job status, including updating of SharePoint, OTRS, service calendar, Inmarsat Maritime Management System, CRM, Install Central and any other relevant information management system.

Installation Jobs

  • Process installation jobs handed over from Project or Sales
  • Establish contact and plan services with the customer
  • Obtain PO for the job where applicable
  • Dispatch Engineer when needed
  • Manage travel arrangements where applicable
  • Check that documentation is updated by engineers after services are completed
  • Arrange follow up service if required
  • Record complete and accurate information on service job status, including updating of SharePoint, service calendar, Install Central and any other relevant information management system.

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Technical qualification at Diploma level or Bachelor level
  • Lack of education can be replaced by relevant experience, 3-5 years’ relevant work experience from project management or marine related industry preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills

  • Positive service attitude and able to work in tight schedules
  • Ability to work systematically and structured
  • Self-driven and good team player
  • Fluent in English both orally and in writing
  • Ability to identify with the Inmarsat values
